Detailed Report:
Anarchy Championship Wrestling laid "Siege on Seguin" Thursday night with an action packed show of 7 matches which thrilled and amazed the crowd in attendance. Two of the matches were rematches from last week's show in San Antonio, while a third match was originally scheduled for that show.
The first match saw the ACW debut of Chad Thomas from Amarillo. This tall youngster impressed the fans but didn't exactly make friends with any of them as he badmouthed Seguin and San Antonio. Local favorite Berry came to the defense of South Texas but was overwhelmed by the offense of the brash newcomer.
In the second match, Thomas's partner "Showcase" Shance Williams faced Darin Childs. This would be a tough challenge for Williams as Childs currently hold the ACW Hardcore Title as well as being one-half of the ACW Tag Team Champions The Children of Pain. Williams was making a good show for himself, countering Childs at every turn with neither man gaining an advantage. When the action was reaching a fever pitch, the team of Double Trouble came to the ring and attacked both men, resulting in a no-decision. When Jacob Ladder came to help Childs and Chad Thomas came to help Williams, order was restored. Not satisfied with leaving the situation like that, The C.o.P. suggested that since there were 3 teams here, there should be 3-way tag match later in the evening. Not only that, the Tag Titles were going to be on the line!
The third match between Spiro and Rexx Reed had originally been scheduled for last week; however Spiro had been in an auto accident and was forced to miss the show. Through impressive recent matches, these two men are both considered top contenders for the ACW title, so a victory here would carry a lot of weight with the championship committee. Perhaps it was lingering pain from the accident, or perhaps it was that Reed was particularly inspired this evening, but Spiro was never able to get on track in this match as The Xtreme Bulldawg powered his way to a victory.
Next came an "Unlucky 13" match which was a follow-up to last week's Total Anarchy Death Match in which Hugh Rogue hit Chuey Martinez's valet Stevi Koi with a package pile-driver. The rules of the match indicate that the first man to staple 7 dollar bills to his opponent's body is the winner. Aside from staples, this match featured several steel chairs including one wrapped in barb-wire and the trademark Chucky doll. After last week, there was no way that Sexy Stevi wasn't going to be involved in this match, and she paid for her involvement with a strategically placed dollar stapled to her body. This may also have been the last match for Chucky, who suffered almost as much as the competitors, actually being stapled to Martinez at one point. Chuey took an early advantage, but the Hard Core Legend Rogue fought through and came back eventually winning by stapling the 7th bill to Chuey's open palm. Ouch!
In the next match Ricky Rhodes, who was still showing the scars from being set on fire last week, came to the ring with his manager "The Beast from Bourbon Street" Gator. Gator insisted that his man deserved better competition than the "clowns" Rhodes has been facing. This naturally led to the introduction of Rhodes opponent, Doink the Clown. Always popular with the fans in Seguin, Doink confused Rhodes with his antics, amusing the crowd in a match that served as a counter to the bloody violence that had preceded it.
Next was the 3 way Tag Title Match set up earlier. The Children of Pain were set to defend their belts against the teams of Double Trouble (Tony Vega and Chris James) from Houston and Williams & Thomas from Amarillo. Before the match began, a 4th team put itself into the match. Kissyboots had originally been scheduled for a title match, but Enigma Skylar Skelley has yet to be cleared for action. Instead Rachel Summerlyn was forced to find a new partner. Kissyboots members Starr and Chesty had very good reasons for not being able to compete, so Rachel ran to the back and dragged out Tompkins (formerly known as "The Seguin Brawler.") So now it was a 4-way match with elimination rules. There was much action in this match as all the competitors spent time in the ring. Outside the ring, Kissyboots members Starr and Chesty made their presence known along with their faithful roadie Drew Lucid who absorbed some devastating moves and eventually had to be carried to the back. The first team eliminated was Williams & Thomas following a double team move from Double Trouble. Kissyboots was eliminated by The Children of Pain as Darin Childs attacked and pinned Tompkins as Rachel was close to getting a submission on Jacob Ladder. Finally, the C.o.P. eliminated Double Trouble with a double slam on Vega for the victory. After the match, Enigma entered the ring, attacking Darin Childs and knocking him out with an insuguri kick. Enigma still claims to be the rightful owner of the Hardcore belt currently held by Childs and seems to feel that he is being kept out of the ring by some conspiracy to keep him from getting his medical clearance to compete. When these two men finally lock it up, it'll be about a lot more than the Hardcore Belt.
The main event was a rematch from last week's show in which Mitch Ryder took champion Showtime Summers to the limit. If possible this match was even more violent, spilling out into the crowd before the open bell. Fans were sent scattering as these two showed little concern for anything other than settling this vendetta against one another. When the match finally worked its way to the ring, both men were weakened by the violence and loss of blood, but there was no let up in the fury. As both men were knocked to the mat, facing a 10 count, Rexx Reed rushed the ring, attacking Ryder and pulling Summers over for the pin. After impressive wins in the last 2 shows, Reed demanded his due as number 1 contender. Look for Reed to get his wish in the near future.
ACW has several shows coming up in April, starting with "International Warfare" at Graham Central Station in San Antonio on the 15th.
